Dexter Construction
has an active division working on structures and marine construction
projects. Dexter has successfully completed a number of significant
bridge and overpass structures for NS and NB DOT. Most recently
Dexter completed NSDOT’s first large-scale design-build
structure – the 10-million dollar Margaree River Bridge
in Cape Breton, NS.
Dexter’s has experience in various aspects of high-performance
concrete and steel bridge construction including pile driving,
trestle building, cofferdams, shoring, precast and post-tensioned
concrete.
Dexter has also completed numerous projects involving Breakwaters
and wharves.

Past projects have
involved large equipment for marine dredging and heavy armour
placement as well as timber and concrete crib work for wharves.
Besides the DOT, some of our major structures/marine clients
include Public Works and Gov’t services Canada, Nova Scotia
Power Inc, Halifax Regional Municipality and Millbrook First Nation.
With our experienced personnel, innovative thinking and management
support we have demonstrated that Dexter is not afraid to tackle
any project of this nature.
