International Projects
Dexter Construction is actively pursuing and has secured major projects outside of Canada in recent years.
Some of the projects that we have secured are:
Bermuda International
Airport - the project scope consisted of paving a
2500 metre long runway at Kinley Field Airport Bermuda and
the repaving of a private apron for Bermuda Airport Services
(BAS). The work comprised of shipping 30,000 tonnes of aggregate
from Nova Scotia, shipping of asphalt plant and paving equipment,
shipping in 180,000 tonnes of asphalt from the United States,
profiling of the runway and placing 30,000 tonnes of asphalt.
Grand Turk International
Airport - Turks & Caicos Islands. This project
scope of work consisted of reconstructing and paving 2000
metres of runway, complete construction of a new apron,
repaving existing apron and twelve streets in the town of
Cockburn. The work consisted of shipping 36,000 tonnes of
aggregate from Nova Scotia, shipping of asphalt plant and
paving equipment, shipping in 2000 tonnes of liquid asphalt
from the United States, reconstruction of runway, new construction
of apron, new construction of ring road and repaving of
streets with 36,000 tonnes of asphalt.
Brunei
- The project encompasses the design & engineering,
management, equipment selection & procurement, and excavation,
treatment and disposal of approximately 160,000 tonnes of
hydrocarbon contaminated sludges, drill muds and soils deposited
in three unlined lagoons directly adjacent to the South
China Sea. In addition to the excavation and treatment of
contaminated sludges and soils, the scope of work included
the handling, cleaning and crushing of approximately 5,000
drums containing highly contaminated oil-based muds, as
well as complete site restoration/re-vegetation. The site
includes producing wells and pipelines throughout the treatment
zone and encompasses an area of 15 ha, with underlying sands
and the groundwater table close to the surface. more...
