The Municipal Group of Companies, based in Bedford Nova Scotia, is a large diversified Construction Company engaged in all major aspects of the heavy civil construction and mining industry within the Atlantic Provinces.

We are currently seeking the qualifications and expertise of a Human Resources Manager for our growing operations based out of Labrador City, NL or Sept Iles, QC.

ROLE SUMMARY

The Human Resource Manager is responsible for providing support in the various human resource functions, which include recruitment, staffing, training and development, performance monitoring and employee counseling.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Deliver full recruitment services including front end needs analysis, job postings, sourcing, interviewing, and employee offers for all positions from hourly workers to senior management.
• Help champion and establish HR policies and procedures for our Northern operations
• Acts as a resource for all employee compensation and benefits
• Provide leadership and coaching for day-to-day management of human resources, including employee relations, performance management, and policies and procedures
• Responsibility for identifying training needs
• Responsible for coaching and mentoring junior HR staff

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Extensive experience in recruitment
• Minimum of 7 years previous experience with, post secondary education in HR or related field; CHRP designation an asset
• Knowledge of CCQ and CSST
• Experience in Mining and/or Construction
• Bilingualism in Canada’s both official languages is required.

This position may require travel thorough out Newfoundland and Labrador including Northern Quebec.
