The Municipal Group of Companies owns and operates a total of five quarry operations in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.

The largest, Rocky Lake Quarry is located in Bedford, Nova Scotia. Other quarries in Nova Scotia are Lapland Quarry and Middlewood Quarry, which are both situated in Lunenburg County and the Panuke Lake Road Quarry in Windsor, Nova Scotia. The Municipal Group also owns and operates Gorge Road Quarry, which is located in Moncton, New Brunswick.

These quarries service both our own projects and local businesses in their respective areas. Through the ownership of these resources the Company is ensured an adequate and timely supply of product to meet its various project specifications.

In addition to the quarry operations, the company also runs permanent asphalt plants at both the Rocky Lake Quarry in Bedford and the Lapland Quarry in Bridgewater.

All of our quarries produce quality-controlled crushed stone in all commercial sizes. Other stone products include Road Gravels - such as Type I ( 1" crusher runs), Type II (2" crusher runs) and various sizes of clear drainage stones that are suitable for septic fields, drain tiles and ditches. Coarse aggregates are used for ready-mixed concrete and asphalt concrete mixes. We also produce and manufactured one of North America’s largest inventories of Armour stone.
