For over a decade, the Dexter Institute has proven to be a successful partnership between Dexter Construction and NSCC. However, after an in-depth review of the program, it was determined that the Institute could prove even more successful as a standalone training division within the Municipal Group of Companies. The expiration of the previous partnership with NSCC does not mean the end of the Dexter Institute but rather a continuation with improvements.

Moving forward, many aspects of our traditional program will continue, such as expert heavy equipment training and high school recruitment. New and existing programs will be made available to current employees while supervisory training will continue and be expanded to include additional technical programs. 

The "new" Dexter Institute will look to establish strategic relationships with secondary education institutions and programs such as Civil Engineering Technology. These relationships may include scholarships, sponsorships, and recruitment. Being involved with and recruiting from a larger base of Programs will provide access to a larger pool of potential employees.

Overall, the goal is to bring the Dexter Institute to a higher level through stronger internal and external recruitment with more efficient, targeted education.  The result?  A better trained and more productive workforce able to grow with the company.
