REgroup Receives Back-to-Back Consumer Choice Awards
REgroup (Royal Environmental Inc.) has been honoured with the 2011 Consumer Choice Award for Business Excellence, marking the second consecutive year for which the Halifax-based waste management and recycling company has been recognized.
As an advocate for informed buyers for more than 20 years, Consumer Choice Award is the only organization in Canada to determine the top-ranked service providers in various categories by conducting an independent market research survey. Each year, consumers are surveyed across Canada to gather their opinions, perceptions and expectations regarding the services they choose on a daily basis.
“This is truly a people’s choice award,” explains REgroup’s Al Abraham, “which is what makes it so special. Being honoured directly by our customers means a great deal, and demonstrates that we’re delivering valuable waste and recycling services. We are thrilled to be recognized once again by consumers in our region, especially upon our rebranding.”
When Green Waste Systems, EnviroWaste and Royal Flush amalgamated into REgroup, it faced the challenge of launching a new identity while maintaining its consistent and high level of service for existing customers. Abraham says the transition was extremely successful—a point reinforced by repeat Consumer Choice Awards.
“We serve more than 2,000 customers through Halifax Regional Municipality, so it was imperative to consolidate our services smoothly as we re-introduced ourselves. What’s more, we simultaneously expanded our recycling and collection capabilities. The challenges were vast, but receiving a 2nd award shows that customers are appreciating the efforts we’re making.”
KenMac Printing, a long-term customer, echoes this sentiment. "Responsiveness and quality of service are always important, even when it comes to garbage collection and removal," says account manager Angela Corkum. "The Royal Environmental team has always delivered on both fronts, and the fact that they are a locally based organization only adds to our satisfaction."
