  • Roadbuilding & Paving: Unique and challenging in scope, this project entailed the construction of two roundabouts in a busy, high-traffic area near Citadel Hill in downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia.
  • Roadbuilding & Paving: Dexter crews recently achieved a significant milestone (22 kilometres of new, 4-lane divided highway) in the twinning of Highway 103 along Nova Scotia's South Shore.
  • Roadbuilding & Paving: Massive road improvement/reconstruction project on Route 389, with work performed across multiple phases by our crews in Quebec.
  • Bridges, Marine & Structural Work: Twinning of existing bridge and replacement of deck for westbound crossing over the Digdeguash River where we utilized numerous environmental, quality, and safety management systems.
  • Bridges, Marine & Structural Work: Highway expansion, interchange construction, and bridge widening for safer and more efficient traffic flow near Lantz, Elmsdale and Enfield, Nova Scotia.
  • Bridges, Marine & Structural Work: Joint venture between Dexter Construction and McNally International for construction of jetty at CFB Halifax dockyard that serves as a home for new patrol vessels per a contract with Irving Shipbuilding.
  • Bridges, Marine & Structural Work: Mass excavation behind coastal berm, installation of dewatering systems, and construction of a graving dock on a 20 hectare site in Placentia, Newfoundland, as part of the White Rose Extension project.
  • Demolition: Large-scale abatement; transport and disposal of contents, hazardous materials, and designated substances for 32 Private Married Quarters (PMQ) complexes and 12 additional buildings in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
  • Demolition: Structural demolition in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, including separation from adjacent buildings with shared walls, followed by new service connections and restoration (utilities, asphalt) for remaining structures.
  • Demolition: Demolition of the former RCMP forensics building in Halifax, including hazardous material abatement and removal as well as significant dust and noise suppression.
  • Excavation & Site Development: Major earthworks (excavation, drilling/blasting, hauling) in a city block over 75 feet deep as part of the largest integrated development project undertaken in Nova Scotia's history.
  • Excavation & Site Development: Lot clearing and preparation for a multi-phase subdivision in West Bedford, Nova Scotia, as well as supply and installation of water, sanitary, and storm mains to each lot.
  • Excavation & Site Development: Extensive marine mobilization of equipment and materials from the port of Quebec to the remote Voisey’s Bay mine site.
  • Excavation & Site Development: First of the several development phases (clearing, grubbing, blasting, excavation) for an expansive 348-dwelling subdivision located off Herring Cove Road in Halifax Regional Municipality.
  • Pipe & Utility Work: Award-winning and environmentally challenging project that entailed re-exposing ("daylighting") parts of the Saw Mill River in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
  • Pipe & Utility Work: Major undertaking that involved the design and construction, specifically civil work, for three sewage treatment facilities as part of the Halifax Harbour Solutions project.
  • Pipe & Utility Work: Pipe installation, concrete and backfill, along with all sitework restoration (landscaping, guiderail, hydroseeding, erosion control) for an utility project located near Shediac, New Brunswick.
  • Pipe & Utility Work: Mass excavation followed by extension of water, sanitary, and storm sewers to the Bedford Highway, allowing for connection of building's utility services.
  • Quarry & Aggregate Supply: Thanks to strong relationships with port authorities developed over years, we can transport materials and equipment with maximum efficiency.
  • Quarry & Aggregate Supply: Led by our Rocky Lake Quarry and supported by a vast network of equipment and personnel, we have been a long-time provider of high-quality aggregate and asphalt construction materials.
